Today’s youths in Nepal face a daunting task to shape their career and destiny. The challenges are tall as the Himalayas and extremely difficult as the Pacific Ocean to navigate. Government and private avenues are but non – existent to help them out professionally. By nature, youths are highly ambitious, energetic, intelligent, fragile, susceptible, and indecisive. They do not hesitate to pounce on opportunities that come by to advance their careers. The government’s failure to set up a permanent help desk for youths regarding career development and counseling has pushed youths to the edge. Having accomplished virtually nothing substantial career wise in the adolescence stage, insecurity and humiliation creeps in them. सरकारले न्युक्लियर सेन्टर (विकासका लागि आणविक केन्द्र) र स्पेस रिसर्च सेन्टर स्थापना गर्ने महत्त्वाकांक्षी प्रस्ताव अघि सारेको छ । विज्ञान तथा प्रविधि मन्त्रालयले ती दुवै सेन्टर स्थापना गर्ने प्रस्ताव योजना आयोग र अर्थ मन्त्रालयसमक्ष राखेको छ । मन्त्रालयले ती सेन्टर स्थापनाका लागि सरकारसित बजेट माग गरेको छ । अर्थ र योजना आयोग दुवैले विज्ञान मन्त्रालयलाई दुवै सेन्टर स्थापनाको प्रारम्भिक कार्य गर्न आगामी वर्ष बजेट दिने सैद्धान्तिक सहमति जनाइसकेको जानकारी स्रोतले दिए । विज्ञान तथा प्रविधि सचिव रामहरि अर्यालले मुलुकमा ऊर्जा, कृषि र स्वास्थ्य क्षेत्रको विकास तथा खानी उत्खननका लागि आफ्नो मन्त्रालयले न्युक्लियर सेन्टर स्थापनाको प्रस्ताव गरेको जानकारी दिए । उनका अनुसार अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय आणविक ऊर्जा एजेन्सी (आईएईए) ले नेपालको स्वास्थ्य, कृषि र ऊर्जा क्षेत्रमा सहयोग गर्ने भएको छ । त्यसका लागि आईएईएको फ्याक्ट फाइन्डिङ मिसनले आगामी अपि्रल २६-२७ मा नेपाल भ्रमण गर्दै छ ।सरकारले न्युक्लियर सेन्टर स्थापनाका लागिसमेत आईएईएसित सहयोग माग्ने भएको छ । 'हामीले न्युक्लियर सेन्टर स्थापनाका लागिसमेत आईएईएसित सहयोग माग्नेछौं' अर्यालले कान्तिपुरसित भने ।आईएईएले स्वास्थ्य, कृषि र ऊर्जाको विकास, खानीको उत्खनन र मानव संसाधनको विकासमा सहयोग गर्ने तत्परता देखाएको छ । न्युक्लियर सेन्टरबाट ऊर्जा उत्पादन, क्यान्सरलगायतका रोगका औषधि तथा उपचार सामग्री र कृषिजन्य बीउबिजनको नश्ल सुधारको विकास कार्य गर्न सकिन्छ । Read more..

Matter of load shedding !
Nepal is having huge power crises recently. Even the capital city, Kathmandu, is facing more than 12 hrs black out in a single day and the government officials have warned that this will increase up to 16-20 hrs after couple of months. Power outage has large impact on people's life, economic activity. education and literally and practically everywhere. Many industries have gone shutdown because of no-power. In response to energy crises, government declared energy crises (emergency) and has decided to make new diesel power plants to produce thermal electricity. And some other ways of solving the problem in short term and long term basis are coming for discussion. One of the alternatives to power plants is to replacing traditional incandescent lamps (IL) by compact fluorescent lamps (CFL). What ppl think when they go abroad !
A friend of mine ,originally from syangja ,though she did her schooling from reputed school in Kathmandu, returned from USA last week. She was about to go India right after a week. She wanted to hangout with me so we went to places, in the evening, Thamel, New Road, Kingsway and other places. In 3 short meetings, she tried to make me realize that I am living in hell. And that we don’t know how to live and that we’re so backward and in many other things. She did not mentioned directly that of course but she tried. She is my friend, so I hate to say that I hate the people who act like they belong to some other country just because they’ve spent some time there and whine about how bad the country is how bad is it going to be. She’d been in Washington for barely 5 year and when she returned Nepal, she was saying “things are not like this in ‘her’ place” as if that is where she belongs!
She is not the only one actually. I have many friends living in USA, Australia,UK,Norway and otherAmerican and European countries. Everytime they come down here, they not only whine about the situation here but curse us for our bad waste management sytem, for the traffic problem, for lack of water and for the political system. They curse us for giving them hard time during their a month long visit. Read more..
